Farrow Designs Party

April 22nd, 2010 § 0

A couple of weeks ago Amanda Farrow hosted a launch party for her Summer/Spring line of bags! It was a small party for close friends to get a first look at the new designs and it went really well! A lot of delicious food was served (i made the cupcakes) and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves!

Expect a bigger launch party for the fall line!

So I was finally able to take photos of This is a Standoff! It was well worth the wait! If you haven’t had a chance to see them, you really need to get on that. IF you haven’t heard of them, check out their myspace page. They’re currently touring through Europe, so if there are any Europeans who are reading this (I doubt!), check them out!

For those who are coming to the launch party tonight for Farrow Designs’ Spring/Summer launch, I will be showing some of my favorite photos from the past year! Prints will be for sale for those who are interested!
I was also thinking about starting to sell some prints through here, but I’d like to know what you think about that. So if you think that’d be a good idea, shoot me an e-mail and tell me what you think!

Update!…Finally

April 6th, 2010 § 0

I just realized the other day that it’s been a fucking long time since I’ve posted anything! I’ve been attempting to be a good a student and get my work done, but in result, my time to take photos quickly decreased. One more month and you will see some regular blog action from me!

I’ll be showing some of my photos this weekend during Amanda Farrow’s Spring/Summer collection launch! So if you’re going, not only will you get to see some pretty awesome bags, but a room filled with some of my recent photos!
I’m also working on photos from This is a Standoff’s last show here in Ottawa as we speak since I have some spare time before exams. So those should be up by week’s end (or even tonight!)

Here’s a preview!

Amalgamation

February 15th, 2010 § 0

My good friends in Amalgamation have been playing a lot more shows lately and have been doing such a great job!
They opened for Attack in Black last week and their set was my favorite of the night (Attack In Black was a little disappointing)

Did a couple of not-so-serious press shots before the set!

I’m back in Timmins for a few days for reading week. I’m going to have to hide out in the library for a few days when I get back!

Scanner!

January 26th, 2010 § 0

Found a film scanner, so I’m scanner slides and negatives all days!
Woo!

Nothing else to report other than possibly being able to skate street in february! I took this with my cell phone yesterday!

I’m really hoping this weather holds up!

Martin Luther King Jr

Today is the anniversary of MLK’s death. Take some time to remember what this great man did for not only black people across north america, but for justice for all people in an unjust time. He played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement in the United-States during the 50s and 60s as well as fighting for the rights of all americans during the Vietnam War.

Last week I went to a great indie show at Maverick’s. A bunch of my friend were playing, and the vibes were awesome. I didn’t take too many photos, pretty much just brought my camera along for fun.
They all put on such an amazing show, i’ve regained my optimism in Ottawa’s indie scene. I’m really excited to see all these bands again soon! Amalgamation is actually opening for Attack in Black on feb 4th, so to all you Ottawa folk, this will be a great show no doubt!
Check all these bands out on myspace.

Other than that show, I haven’t been up to much other than starting a new semester. Like I said in my last post, I’ve been really into film lately, but I don’t have a working film scanner so I can’t show you anything yet. If anyone knows of a good scanner that’s cheap (student budget) or have one they can lend me, please e-mail me!

TXBK

December 26th, 2009 § 0

So I’m back in Timmins for the holidays. I plan on hopefully taking care of a few personal projects while I’m here, but nothing too crazy. It’s time to relax a bit before getting back to school next week.

I just found out that Distort used my photo of A Textbook Tragedy for their profile page on their website. So swing by their page and take a look at that, and while you’re at it you might as well check out TXBK on myspace.

Arkells

December 11th, 2009 § 1

These photos are long overdue, I know. I shot these in November at Capitol Music Hall. It was my first time ever going in, let alone shooting in Capitol, so it was a learning experience for sure. Definitely the biggest venue I’ve shot in a long time. As cool as it was to shoot in a venue with actual lights, I have never received so much flack for being a photographer than I did shooting here. It was ridiculous and this venue has quickly become my least favorite one in Ottawa to shoot. Watching shows there is cool though.

I’m working on more photos, but i also have exams coming up, which is why I haven’t had any new projects in a while. I really hate it too!

Updates comin up

December 7th, 2009 § 0

So I’ve finally fallen upon some free time. I’m sorry to anyone who pays attention to my blog for the lack of updates. I apparently can’t juggle university with photography, so photography unfortunately took the backburner for a little bit.
I’ve been shooting a lot more film recently and I’m hoping to find a decent film scanner soon so I can share the photos with you all!

So I’m working on photos from the Arkells show last month and a couple of shots from Elliott Brood‘s mind blowing performance in November. (seriously, best show I’ve ever seen.)

Anyways, sit tight, i should have some photos for you all up by friday!
