Tanner

Decided to go back out to the park last night and test out the flashes when the sun was down. Went a bit better, but they’re still hard to get use to. But I know I’ll get the hang out it soon. Tanner was airing this hip pretty high trying to get back into skating tranny after a long winter. Trevor decided to give it a shot too, but I didn’t get a good snap of him (soon there will some crazy ones though, the kid rips!)

It’s becoming extremely hard to time my photos well because my shutter isn’t working well anymore. I’m gonna have to send it back to Canon or really start working my ass off towards a 5D because it’s almost unusable. There were a few times were I missed the shot completely because it failed to fire. I hate money!

Anyways, here’s Tanner!
I decided to post both of these because I didn’t know which one was better. Let me know what you think! I prefer the one of the left, but I also like how he’s lit on the right….

Tanner is the only one who ollies this ledge and he does it so effortlessly with so much style. This one was even done in the dark! One of my flashes wasn’t working for this one so it was taken with only 2. Sunpak 552 at 1/4 to my right and a vivitar 285HV in the bowl on my left at 1/2.

Farewell To Freeway

Woo! 2 updates in 1 week!

Like I said in my last post, I shot Farewell To Freeway last week. They did such a great job as always and I always have a great time shooting their shows. They played a bunch of new stuff which sounds amazing! Their new album Only Time Will Tell recently was released and if you haven’t checked it out yet, I suggest you just go to your local cd store and pick it up – you will NOT regret it!

I’m still having some issues with the new place, so if there isn’t another post soon, that’s why. That and work is taking up a lot of my time lately.
The more I looked at the shots of FTF the more I wished I had a full frame sensor….One day! For now, here’s what I got.

Tanner

So i’ve been slacking on the posts.
I finally had a chance to test out my flashes at the park last week! It was definitely a learning experience, but I think I got a pretty good shot.

This is Tanner. He landed this back tail in a few tries for the first time right before my flashes died (didn’t change the batteries before I left).
Shot with 3 flashes (1 to his right, 1 in front and 1 behind the ledge) at 1/180th f/11. The sun was really bright so I’m still trying to figure out how to work with it!

I shot Farewell To Freeway friday night at St-Mathew’s cathedral. It went pretty well, but unfortunately Greeley Estates couldn’t make it due to van troubles.

Where am I?
