Norml x Lifetime Collective

August 26th, 2010 § 0

Sunday night i had a shoot for Norml and Lifetime Collective. It went great, but we were running out of light really fast (fuck fall!). The lookbook is posted on norml’s website, so swing by and have a look!

For this shoot, I had the opportunity to play with the 85mm f/1.8 and fell in love! What an amazing piece of glass that is also super cheap (Price, not quality). My new flash also came in yesterday, so expect some new projects in the works this fall!

DJ Acro

August 19th, 2010 § 0

Did a shoot with DJ Acro on monday. I love the way these turned out! Unfortunately I lost a flash during the shoot, which forced me to rethink my whole lighting situation. So i took the plunge and invested in some new stuff! Stay tuned for that!

Acro is making big moves in the Ottawa scene. He’s playing tonight at the First annual Ottawa International Film Festival for those of you are interested in coming! I’ll be there too, but that’s not really important.

Anyways these are my 2 favorite photos from the shoot! I have a bunch more stuff coming up by the end of august, so subscribe to the blog (button on the right) and keep up to date with the goings on!

Head Down album

August 9th, 2010 § 0

Just got a copy of Head Down’s new album in the mail today and it is incredible! For those who don’t know, these guys are really good friends of mine and I had the opportunity to join them on their east coast tour 2 years ago. Not only are they great friends, they’re also amazing musicians and this album successfully displays that.

I also shot the photo in the album booklet. I shot it while I was home in February and I really like how it turned out!

You can find the album in most hmv’s in Ontario as well as on Itunes. If you live in Timmins, stop by CD plus or just go to one of their shows! Don’t even bother listening to it to see if you like it, i guarantee you will. Go out and buy it now!

the HOPE Show

June 18th, 2010 § 1

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend Kiel Burwell and a bunch of others put on a show at the Atomic Rooster in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. The night went off amazingly! The place reached capacity early in the evening and the people who couldn’t get in were just watching through the window from outside. It was great! The bands that played were all from Ottawa – Those Gulls, The Uncles, The Superlative, We were the Fires of Rome and Bruce Boris (no photos).
Unfortunately for me, I was feeling really under the weather and I barely made it out of work to catch Those Gulls’ set. I’m rarely sick, but when I am, it really sucks and unfortunately it had to happen that night.

Anyways, a huge congratulations to Kiel and the group who put the show together! Hopefully we can make this an annual event.

The Flatliners

May 20th, 2010 § 0

About a month a go I shot the Flatliners show here in Ottawa. They are one of my all time favorite bands and I never get tired of photographing their sets. Sorry it took so long for them to go up!

Broadway Calls

Been super busy lately so these are a little late. Broadway Calls at Mavericks! These are some of my favorites from the night.

Callahan + Farewell To Freeway

May 3rd, 2010 § 0

Not too long ago my friends from Callahan made the long drive from Vancouver to play in Ottawa with Farewell To Freeway. I love shooting both of these bands (see May 2009 and March 2009) and it was great to see them again!

I am now an official contributor with Family Tree Productions! They’re based out of BC and I’ll be posting on their page from time to time, so make sure to stop by their website and keep up to date with their already awesome content!

Photos from the flatliners’ show are coming soon as well!

Callahan

420

April 22nd, 2010 § 0

420 was a couple of days ago, so even though I don’t smoke, I decided to tag along and see what all the fuss was about! Being from a small town, I’ve never really seen a real 420 celebration. It was crazy! There were so many people on Major Hill (facing parliament), I couldn’t believe it

In other news – Callahan and Farewell to Freeway played last night at Maverick’s. I’ve shot both of these bands multiple times and I never get bored of it! It was so good!
Those should be up next week once my final exam is done!
Skate trip to Montreal tomorrow too, so watch out for some photos from that.
